TIM NEWCOMB
Of course we now know much more in relation to the actions of Tim Newcomb.
His stance so far has been mute but I am sure we will get something from him or Essex Police once my complaint hits the ground. The complaint will cover three different aspects including the failure of the 999 service and the response times (5 hours and 6 days), the so called investigation into this has either not been activated or is not for giving us any answers as we currently have had no feedback at all.

Well it seems that Douglas Carswell was acting on reliable information from none other than Tim Newcomb who is a senior police commissioner!
Tim Newcomb has stated to an MP that the complaint was dropped by us!!
That is a Police Commissioner lying to an MP, this is a man we are supposed to trust and who is responsible for the overall control of policing in our district, perhaps thats why Colchester Police took 5 days to respond to one 999 call and 6 hours responding to another!!
Perhaps thats why colchester police did not take any evidence or gather information when the assault happened and perhaps thats why they can say ’sorry we did all we can, its the CPS that won’t continue’, it looks as though Mr Newcomb would be a good candidate to head up Essex police in general and carry the same seeming indifference to violent crime all the way to the top.
At this point its actually quite strange that we have never met or spoken to Mr Newcomb in fact when we had the letter in from Douglas Carswell it was the first time his name has come to the frame.
In addition I am still awaiting news of the supposed investigation into the complete failure of the 999 emergency system that Inspector Jason Gwillim promised was going to be instigated.
Maybe he went to the same police training course that the Inspector at Clacton police went to, thats the Inspector who said he had done us a favour??
This is not going away and we refused to be whitewashed.
So far the main progress has been to meet with the MP who has been very good after a shaky start, there is nothing from Tim Newcomb yet and no apology for the lie that misled the MP. I am amazed that he has kept silent and so I will continue to use my SEO skills to highlight his poor performance on this case.
I have also started a police complaint to get to the bottom of this and get an explanation from him and of course we have the letter that our MP has now written to him. I would love this to go further and am also compiling a letter for the Home Secretary and will update this thread when that goes.

This does not suprise me at all, my experience was very similar.
Tim Newcomb should be investigating this now but i bet he does nothing other than hide and lay low.
This is an otrage, women are not protected by the police, how can this man say the complaint has been dropped if it has not?
Who is Mr Newcomb reporting to because they should be looking into this case as its obvious this man will cover his tracks.
I am shocked at the story, this is a police commissioner for godsake.
I have a friend who has similar problems, she was supposed to be protected but when her ex last assaulted her it was after she made the call for help that didnt come.
last i heard she had defended herself but was on a charge.
This is just one more green light to violent men who dupe the police time and again.
Mr Newcomb sounds as though he is covering up police failings by giving misleading statements to an mp, i guess they have something to hide.
Women have a basic human right to go out and lead their life safely, i bet if Newcomb or Carswell had a daughter in this position the thug would be behind bars for a long time, and i wonder if they would take it more seriously.
I hope that you get answers to this and that the thug goes down for his despicable actions.

This is one person who will not be voting for Mr Carswell and I know that its the only way to get through, I say keep the votes away from him and then see what he has to say and do.
well the cps have no backbone and the police force are only interested in high profile cases or driving crime.
if its easy they will clock up another stat and thats all they want.

I read other posts about this subject and I have always supported the police but gradually my confidence has been stripped away.
I was on my way to a doctors appointment on Saturday and was stopped for speeding, 42 mph in a 30 mph limit, i take that on the chin as I was wrong but as soon as I protested about the length of time the ticket was taking the officer deliberately took longer.
he loved the winding up, i explained i was late for an important doctors appointment, i had already waited a damn week for it and would have to wait another if i didnt get away.
A bystander came to my support and the officer stated he would take longer and longer relishing that he could do it.
he then read every word out on the back of the ticket, the bystander protested and the traffic officer said he had to do it just in case I was blind as it would affect a court case??? If i was blind I would not be driving!!!
No, it was just to wind me up, he was arrogant, rude and a proper bully.
That was the last straw even before i read all this about the police chief.
God what happened to our bobbies.

the cps wont go to court on a case that is not easy or unless they can get a guaranteed plea bargain which is just another tick.
