Update on Tim Newcomb 05/01/2010
I have today downloaded the complaint forms from the IPCC and am starting to put together two cases one for Essex Police and one for Tim Newcomb.
I have the letters that were written to Douglas Carswell and also have his replies and the letters he sent to me and so there is a pretty obvious case here, as Essex Police themselves will be investigating the case I doubt it will go far but somebody somewhere will have that on their concience.
I waited some time before taking this step as I felt that Tim Newcomb and other fraternities with the authorities would sit up and actually make a difference, this has not happened and my latest letter in from the CPS themselves shows an attempt to smear the character of my daughter, in addition the decision for my daughters attacker to be relocated next to her is one that shows there is not one shred of consistency in the system even when the spotlight is on it.
Tim Newcomb has not once apologised or sought to redeem his error and has relied on others to use the slow protracted process of pacification, it has not worked and on reflection our time is completely wasted in that direction.
I have had many discussions with government bodies and have gradually worked my way up the line, I now have a more qualified knowledge on the system and its levels from probation through to the CPS.
I will put it to good use and in the meantime will try to resist the lure of the Sunday paper (let me know if you read this Vanessa).
UPDATE ON TIM NEWCOMB AND HIS MISLEADING STATEMENT TO TORY MP
DOUGLAS CARSWELL
28th Sept 2009 – Well Tim Newcomb has not responded at all and is keeping his head down.
I hope that when Douglas Carswells latest letter lands on his desktop that he responds to the MP in a different manner, last time he misled the Tory MP by advising him that Essex Police could do nothing because nobody had made a complaint and yet we had all made a number of statements and the case was sitting in front of the CPS suffering because of a complete lack of police evidence.
Tim Newcomb attemted to cover this up but whe the MP wrote back to us our response was to publicly retaliate by shaming his response through many high profile media channels. To his credit Douglas said that Newcomb had misled him and quoted him in his letter, the MP then decided to take Tim Newcomb to account and that is where we sit now with the Colchester Police Chief hiding behind the glossy PR.
Reading his profile on the Essex Police divisional update I can see that Tim Newcomb says he is not complacent and that he is proud to be appointed as the new Commander for eastern Division so he can fight against crime and disorder.
Tim Newcomb also says his officers arrest more offenders and detect more crime than anywhere in the country, I wonder how the conviction rates for violent crime stand and how the conviction figures in general look.
He also says: ‘I make a commitment on behalf of your neighbourhood policing teams that they will listen to your concerns and take the action necessary to improve your quality of life’.
Well I am afraid he is failing and so are the neighborhood policing teams.
Not only is he failing but it is being swept under the carpet with smooth PR and glossy posters!
I am amazed that this man is able to tell a local MP that a complaint about serious violence has been dropped when it has not, I am amazed that he is not taken into account for this and I am amazed that he can boast such commendations in his ‘Divional Update’ when the experience for normal everyday people is exactly the opposite.
Is it possible that there is an attempt here to close ranks and cover up the real failings of Colchester Police in relation to violent crime?
There has been no response from the police, Tim Newcomb has not explained the comments and so far the supposed investigation into police response times has not materialised.
So here are my questions:-
1. Why did the police take 5 hours and then 5 days to respond to two important 999 calls.
2. Why was the thug not arrested and examined for criminal evidence on the night which would have made a very strong case.
3. Why despite promises from Jason Gwillim are we not advised as to progress the hearings come and go and yet we are not told if this dangerous man is in or out of custody.
4. How can Tim Newcomb tell a prominent MP that we dropped the complaint after we asked the MP to investigate.
5. How is it that the police are so quick to prosecute a woman defending her daughter whilst avoiding the really violent crime.
6. Why has Tim Newcomb not apologised for misleading the MP.
These are just some of the questions we would like answers to but of course they won’t come, at best there will be a PR exercise but this is not going away.
