In my normal corporate line of work I spend much of my time analysing corporate websites to see what needs to be improved and how a pitch should be put together.

In addition this is important feedback for the sales process as it will affect the price point in any pitch, this is because I do not believe any two websites offer the same requirements and will need different input to make the online marketing successful.

It is this diversity that I love about my work, it is on parr with tackling big important clients who have existing and ongoing consultancy needs. There is a certain buzz about nailing a difficult pitch and then seeing that you got it right as far as time investment goes. Imagine winning a pitch for 30k a year only to find that time resources and manpower costs negate any real profit from the income.

Ive been there and seen it and it makes for a very difficult relationship, clients tend to demand more as time goes by so you need to start off at the right level and then slowly look for opportunities to leverage the fee upwards.

SEO consultancy can also be deployed when looking for client competitors who are using unfair methods, OK some would say that no methods are unfair but clearly SEO can be deployed in ways that are outside of what Google would allow. When this becomes apparent in a competitor we always act on it, at the end of the day we are being paid fees to protect our client as well as raise their profile.

Exploitation of the system through SEO is usually relatively easy to unravel, we have had some spectacular negative results for client competitors who cross the line to gain advantage and so SEO can be utilised pro actively here as part of any service.
