Milan – Very Interesting Developments

Well I am just back from Milan after a three day business trip, I got to drop in on a couple of clients which was really good and we had two lovely meals. Milan is a very busy city and there seems to be no rhyme or reason to the traffic flow.

What scared me the most was the reckless motorcycles and mopeds, all with no protective clothing and weaving in and out of the chaos at high speed, its no suprise that the annual death toll is so high for those on two wheels.

The people though were great and the city wasvibrant and exciting, we had two major meetings both aimed at the opening of our new Milan office (badly kept secret at the moment) but it went very well and is just the first of a whole chain of H.P.’s – makes it sound like a supermarket chain :)

Well after the embarressment of Justsearch and their little clanger I had a chat with one of their executives, it was in relation to a blog post at HP that they didn’t like. I explained that sometimes we all drop a clanger here and there and when we do you have to expect to get rinsed, of course as we all know todays news is always tomorrows chip paper (even digitally) so the best thing they can do is just let it ride through.

We have all been there of course and there is no malice when this type of thing happens but you have to take it on the chin and realise that when you cock up in this industry you do risk publicity. I expect us to be there at some point so they will get their chance to have a little irony.

SEO Positive mind you are a different kettle of fish, they are pretty brazen with thier approach to scraping content to post at domains but when the scrape my clients then they cross the line and that is not done with yet.

Its less than 2 months before I get married now and I am so looking forward to it, the build up will be very busy though considering we have to gear up for European expansion at work!!!!

Think I need a holiday :)
