Essex Police Complaints
Of course I already knew this would be the case, the feedback on the blog highlights a pattern of lack of duty as well as a disgraceful and arrogant attitude towards the public. Essex police now have the highest acceleration in complaints for any police force in the country – up a staggering 34% when the national average is just 8%.
Predictably the response was arrogant, the statement says that the complaints show how well the system is working and merely reflects that Essex police have made it easier to complain!
The reality and the feedback on the blog is that its really the tip of an iceberg, so disillusioned are many people that they feel complaining is pointless because nothing changes.
The failing of Essex police is based on the following.
1. A neglect of duty.
2. Incivility, arrogance and rudeness.
3. Failing to keep parties informed.
lets look at these facts…..
Neglect of duty Complaints - gathering evidence, responding to 999 calls, arresting suspects when the vital window for action and evidence is open.
My experience and that of many coming through the blog is that evidence seems to be not a valid course of action for the police in anything other than murders, drugs or motor crime. Whilst we all thought that the police will attend incidents and collate important evidence, witnesses and forensic, er no! That only happens on the telly.
Incivility, arrogance and rudeness complaints – Yes this fits perfectly, led from the top by police chiefs such as Tim Newcomb who is happy to mislead an MP and experienced at every level such as the Inspector at Clacton police station and especially at traffic cop level, all three apply in large portions.
Failing to keep parties informed complaints – Absolutely guilty, the best you get is a computer generated victim support letter with a number on it where people with no information can give you no information. When violent thugs are let out on bail, when court cases fall through thanks to crap police evidence, when you are waiting for 5 hours for a 999 response, there is no information.
But…… Look through the police PR machine, glossy brochures, statements, press releases, public relations, a huge smokescreen design to blind people so they cannot see the real picture – this works until like my family and many others coming through the blog you are unfortunate enough to need their assistance – then you truly are in the hands of the criminals.
So lets wait for the new figures, the 34% rise was for 2008 to 2009 so I bet the politicians at Essex police will be frantically looking at how they can put a positive spin and a good massage on the new figures that are accumulating now.

I am completely sick and tired of our non effective policing, I lost everything when my van was broken into and yet I cannot get any urgency from the police. I am now borrowing money to try and replace my tools so I can go to work, the thieves will already of sold them, the police are not interested and yet I have to pay my damn mortgage in 5 days!!
I think that I will be complaining even though it won’t make any difference.
Essex police you are rubbish.
Its a waste of time complaining as it only counts for figures, you won’t see a policeman or a police force getting reprimanded, you will not see essex police officers suspended or police officers losing money.
they will continue to look upon the public with arrogance and contempt and will be smiling as they nick you for doing 36 in a 30 whilst your house is being robbed.

I say complain as much as you can, its the only way that you can bring the heat onto police forces such as essex, complaints and more complaints, get them shamed and force them to face up to it.
Tottally agree with message from Clacton oct 2. Though there are some good police, unfortunetly there is a corrupt few who colude to cover up injustice and malpractice within Essex police. I have seen it first hand anyone who says it doesnt exist has got there head in the clouds. Believe me it is scary to witness.

I’ll describe to you a story that Essex Police are choosing to ignore, because my daughter herself is too distressed to give them a statement in person. I dont mind giving out the names of the perpetrators;two women surprisingly, becasue as Essex Police wont do anything, its right to let people know.
Here is the letter I wrote. Please tell me if my request is unreasonable.

Dear Child protection unit,
I wish to bring your attention a serious concern regarding the harassment by two people at this College on Luker road, Southend.
My daughter who will shortly turn 18, is a full time student at Southend Essex College and usually attends classes at Luker rd and Queens street 4 days a week. For some time she has given us excuses for not going to classes, finally I found out she has been harassed in a sexual manner by one, maybe two people at that college and is now very uncomfortable going in.
She didn’t want to bring this up but as a parent I feel there should be an investigation.
I promised not to tell the college about this, the staff member, a woman called xxxxx xxxxxxxx she says is a xxxxxxx manager, and quite important there. She told me this manager could make life very difficult for her is she complained to anyone there or knew I’d complained. Her friend Jodie (I cant use her real name) on her course I think talked to student support services but as the incident occurred outside the college they didn’t take action, or maybe it got stopped by the management.
Please keep my daughter’s name anonymous until it is absolutely necessary. If she knows something will be done I think she will cooperate fully with the Child protection unit.. but my daughter cannot go to college while they are managing her course, and if nothing is done and these individuals continue to prowl this College with impunity you may have a more serious case with another vulnerable person.
The policeman I spoke to said I should write to the Education authority, I will send a copy to them,

my complaint is that 4 a whole yr now my girlfriend,her kids & i have been victimsof criminal damage, threatened with harm & death by my ladys ex husband of 3 yrs (coward graham newell) there is a staggering amount of evidence against him and is still on going, yet clacton police do bugger all, put him on police bail for a few weeks, then let him off with a slap on the wrist,. He has even threatened to harm his own kids by threatening to drive is car (disabled hire car) throught the front of her house,without any thought of the kids welfare— to an officer tonight and they have laughed it off Surely that’s a threat to kill, but if i had a bald tyre they’d nick me for that……………..I have lost my faith in the system, as essex police seem to bloody lazy to do real police work and keep our society safe from arseholes who plague our streets………………,
i’m constantly wandering throughout the net the majority of the morning and so I choose to peruse a lot, which unfortunately isn’t typically a beneficial matter as several of the blogs I visit are made up of unnecessary garbage copied from several other sites a million times, but I have to compliment you because this blog is genuinely half decent and even consists of some unique substance, so kudos for removing the fad of just simply copying other folks’ websites, bye for now

Essex Police, especially those based at Basildon and Grays, are a disgrace to their badge. They really are vile. They make up what they can’t prove and allienate normal law abiding people. I was brought up to believe they could be trusted – not so. Wont go into details, but they are a nasty nasty bunch of people. Can quite believe that complaints about them have gone through the roof. There will be another coming along very soon!

I Hope Everyone doesent Underevaluate the true Importance of what you have posted here…Please guys dont skim read this take time and read into thouroughly….Thumps up to the Writer…Great work, its rare that people speak so publicly about Essex police, its a police force that lets so many people down all the time.
Just this morning I watched an Essex officer booking a mum for doing 36 in a 30 on a bit of road that never has had an accident, Essex police are always putting speed traps there and yet 500 yards away on a different road (which goes past a school) they never place a speed trap, its a 40 limit but people go through at 70 mph and there has been a number of bad accidents including a young girl mowed down by a speeding car, people are always speeding through the 40 so why don’t Essex police put a speed trap there???? simple they wont get as many people and therefore as much revenue, they would far rather get lots of people at 36 mph rather than fewer people people at 70 in a 40!

Essex police = Embarressment
I’ve been attempting to complain about Essex police but the complaints department, surprisingly called “standards” that’s “very poor standards” to us, won’t allow or record my complaint.
I’m expecting a reduction in recorded Essex police complaints due to this new initiative and expect Essex police to show a remarkable improvement in recorded complaints and performance bonuse payments to be given out to police officers for excellent public service.
