Educational Toys for Christmas – I Remember When …
Christmas is almost here again and already I am reminiscing about yesteryear when my boys were younger, in those early days educational toys featured strongly in the Christmas list. Toys such as Chemistry sets or even Lego were so much fun and great value for money.
We spent hours creating, building small worlds, bridges, creating funny aromas or small bangs and it truly was educational for both my children and me, now though my children are older and its all about Modern Warfare 2 on the Xbox.
Mind you I guess you could loosely call a laptop an educational toy, perhaps not a traditional toy, its not made of wood, neither is it gregarious unless you are messaging through Facebook. That said I know have a Grandson and he is almost at an age for Lego toys or wooden toys, in fact his Thomas train set is an indestructable wooden one so happy days are here again.
Its now a second generation for me and educational toys are still around and making a comeback in many peoples lives, there is a certain satisfaction from creating something with your Grandson, just the same as when it was your son.
Bring on Christmas and the new wooden bridge for Thomas the Tank Engine – thats my sort of educational toy.
