Denis Island
What can I say about this paradise that would do it justice?
I will in future posts to this category add pictures and more descriptive content but I am just back from Denis and in full flow at work so the time intensive stuff will be coming…
I and my lovely wife Catherine had our wonderfully romantic honeymoon on Denis Island in the Seychelles, Denis is a tropical Island right on the fringe of the Seychelles in the Indian Ocean. We enjoyed 10 magical days there and have some fantastic pictures to share.
from the moment we set foot on the Island to the sad day we had to depart we were treated like royalty, we had the finest food, the most polite and smiling service I have ever experienced and the Denis Island Chef and his team of cooks were simply the most imaginitive group of chefs that one could find anywhere.
The white coral sand, the sunshine and the glorious Sapphire seas, all were within 30 feet of our bed!!
Turtles, Giant Tortoises, Barracuda, huge Angelfish and just about every type of marine animal you could think of was turned into an everyday extravaganza of the best shows Mother nature could provide.
Denis Island is small, just a dot in the middle of the Indian Ocean and right on the extreme of the Seychelles group of Islands. Just a handful of Chalets are there, the only chalet type you should go for is a beachfront chalet. There are garden chalets but there is no substitute for being on the beach, the chalets are lovely and cool, spotlessly clean and exquisite in presentation.
The staff on denis were amazing, there is a pride about them all and the fact that there is no crime on the island at all is completely unique and unlike anywhere else that I am aware of, in fact so secure and confident is this concept that there are no locks anywhere on the Island!
Our days were the most romantic you could imagine and with a night sky so pure you could lay and watch the Milky way for hours and a relentless wash of the Oceans waves as a melody backdrop Denis takes on a magical air of love and romance.
I will be writing much more about this amazing place and hope to build a whole category on the blog for reference to Denis Island – The true Island of Paradise!

You are spot on about Denis Island. I have been there several times myself and I agree with your evaluation but Denis is just the tip of the iceberg. For me if you did not visit La Digue and Praslin islands then you simply must go back to Seychelles. And I have a feeling that you will.
Denis Island is a paradise amongst other Island paradises!!
Yes I missed out on the other Islands, I would never stay on Mahe only land and take off again but the return will include at least two of the other Islands although I will also revisit Denis Island too.
Praslin and La Digue look perfect and now I know rather more about the Seychelles they will be added to Denis for sure.
I am in love with denis island, returning for my fourth time this summer, i would love you to write more and more about this lovely place. The staff are amazing and its so good to see familiar faces when i return, the island respects the environment and the ecology and that is really great for a tourist location.
