Vince – Google and the UK

Well I guess we have discussed the ‘Vince’ update to death and the push of the ‘brand’ in natural results but what is the driver of this????

Matt says its related to relevence and authority and that its good to have these established brands recognised, but of course here in the UK we are not only seeing that but also the corruption of our results by brands from other hemispheres as well.

SEO Forums – Spamming Google

From Spamming Google with blogs to Spamming Google with Forums

Well today I looked into one of my favourite SEO forums and got a bit of a shock, its a while since I was able to post regularly due to the intense nature of our business growth. The contrast was stark with this particular forum really a shadow of its former self.

Previously it had been very technical, very partisan in relation to spammers and very helpful to genuine posters, the posts themselves were pretty interesting in the main and often acute problems were solved for people.

Indian Blog Spam

Well we just had an interesting client conversation discussing the merits of Indian Blog Spam which currently is driving some high profile search listings.

I am awaiting some kind of action from Google as surely they cannot allow Indian Blog Spammers to carry on influencing search results in the UK so prominently as they do at the moment. The blog posts themselves are simply embarressing written in a language that is unrecognisable to English.

Now don’t get me wrong as I know and recognise my grammar is not perfect and I sure as hell cannot speak or write in any other language but then I don’t sell that as a service to unscrupulous agencies who are currently deploying it on behalf of unsuspecting clients.

Porsche Turbo ‘S’

Well I have an opportunity for the first time to race legally……..

I have always loved driving and riding and am fortunate enough to own both a Kawasaki Z900 which is a bit of an iconic motorcycle and also a Porsche 911 Turbo ‘S’ that sits just shy of 500 bhp.

They both provide me with many joyful moments and I am just as happy cruising around as I am opening up on a quiet country road (legally of course). But now I have been invited to a sprint, in fact its a 1 mile sprint at Ipswich airfield and to be honest I am really tempted.

Entrepreneurial Spirit !!!!!

Well I like to see some entrepreneurial spirit in people and especially at an early stage in life however it can backfire a little…..

On returning from Milan a few days back I decided to be efficient and sort out my washing early, in fact as soon as I got my case in I emptied it and readied the washing, a sort of ‘modern man’ approach I guess. As I emptied my pockets (yes men can do that with their washing) I found a number of Euro notes and decided to put them in a pot I keep in the kitchen for when my boys want to get a drink or a bar of chocolate and I am not about.
