Hair Transplant
Well I was never one for designer hair and the pictures from my recent company outing at the Fivelakes golf and leisure centre showed that the situation is not getting any better.
Whilst it was great to shut up shop and take the whole company out for the day, playing golf, tennis and of course time at the bar there were of course many many pictures taken and sadly from all angles. I interpret the following statements that my ears picked up though -

The Algo – Its bouncing still – Toolbar PR Update
Well there has been a toolbar PR export for sure as my new blog (nearly new) now has a toolbar PR of 2 lol, well thats been accrued with no link activity on my behalf that’s for sure.
I guessed that some progress had been made as this blog started turning up on page one for my own name – yes I know – so what? Of course it should but there is quite a bit of information regarding Shaun Parker, in fact there are many Shaun Parker’s from what I can see and some of them quite famous.

Is this a good idea – The SEO Blog for Shaun Parker
I wondered if this would be a good thing to do, I always wanted to be blogging and not with the usual industry orientation that most other SEO people have themed their blogs on. With other learned people such as Dave Naylor they have a following who look to them for tips advice and industry info etc.
As I said at the start I didn’t want to take that line, its quite possible that nobody other than me follows my blog but I am OK with that, I spend much time advising in SEO forums and so that is where I am happy to ply my main industry knowledge. This was always going to be a more personal affair but still linked into my career path through subjects that perhaps are quirky or maybe when I get a bee in my bonnet.

Another Day Another Dollar
Well the Hoseasons contract came back today so we are ready to rock and roll, this is possibly my most exciting project yet as there are so many verticals for the business and not since I worked to get Infosearch and their portal Webfetch into Google have I ever seen such a poor starting point.
The previous agency have made little progress in search and the stats and analytics show an abysmal picture, over the next few weeks we will handle improvements to their infrastructure and web architecture and apply the real keyword research to start the positioning for phrases that people are actually searching for.

Google Algo Ripples…
Well nobody said this was an easy ride, we are used to Google’s rollercoaster of course and once again we have seen a fairly bumpy update in the Algo. I believe it is based on linking and trust and we have seen shifts in both directions for clients.
Of course upwards shifts are met with enthusiasm and on that subject I searched this morning for childrens toys in Google and I am well pleased with the movement of Toys and Learning which has now moved onto page 1. The site also performs well for the other generic targets of ‘educational toys’ and ‘learning toys’ and all three generic terms were miles away from page one when I started three weeks back.
