Ca Maria Adele
Venice – Romance – Perfection
I am just back from a few days away in Venice with my wife to be – Catherine, it was a truly wonderful experience that was enhanced by what must be the best hotel and service I have ever experienced to date.
Ca Maria Adele is a ’boutique hotel’, that means its on the smaller side but what you get with that is magnificent personal service. Everything from being greeted personally at the hotel mooring with ice cool sparkling wine (yes its right on the waters edge) to having petals sprinkled on your bed or on your pillows even if you went out for just a couple of hours.
The hotel has about 12 rooms I believe but five of them are themed, ours was themed as the Doge’s room and was about as opulent as you could get with lots of red, gold gilt furniture, heavy drapes and magnificent glass chandeliers that were made in the local glass makers.
Ca Maria Adele has other themed rooms all are breath-taking, the location close to the San Marco square (just 2 mins) is perfect as was the speedboat ride from the Airport directly to the hotel jetty. With the temperature at 30 deg it needed to be easy to arrive at the airport and then get to the hotel and it was!!
I will be going back even though Venice itself can be very expensive, the hotel alone made the trip worthwhile and I will never forget the way they looked after us.
Another great highlight was walking out from a top restuarant and finding the square cordoned off with myself and Catherine on the inside, no public access and lots of people in suits and evening wear. Only then did we realise that Bocelli was about to perform and we were ringside without even realising it.
As you can imagine the concert was amazing especially as it was such a touch of luck to be there, we left shortly before the end through a police cordon and thousands of people all trying to take pictures on tiptoe. Venice is definately a place I will be taking the lovely Catherine back for another romantic stay and I would recommend it to anyone without hesitation.
Here are some pics of the room, of course its over the top but wonderfully so….
Even the trip back to the airport was great with a speedboat ride straight out of James Bond, tight turns and lots of ‘airtime’ I have to say that it was very exciting.
Speedboats are of course the order of the day as far as taxi rides go and we made a number of trips using this mode of transport, above are a couple of great shots as we used speedboat transport to get around Venice.

Yes, I have to agree, the best hotel I have ever seen. The service was top class, the staff friendly and helpful and the room – the most romantic place on earth! A fully attentive and adorable fiance made my time in Venice the best of my life!!
