Well the Hoseasons contract came back today so we are ready to rock and roll, this is possibly my most exciting project yet as there are so many verticals for the business and not since I worked to get Infosearch and their portal Webfetch into Google have I ever seen such a poor starting point.
The previous agency have made little progress in search and the stats and analytics show an abysmal picture, over the next few weeks we will handle improvements to their infrastructure and web architecture and apply the real keyword research to start the positioning for phrases that people are actually searching for.
There has been some good recoveries in the recent slippage after Google changed and tweaked its evaluation process, this is always a good sign and my resolve to stand firm for a few days after each upheaval is a good one. You have to hold your nerve to make sure there is not a roll back or that the tweaking is not reversed etc and making changes and drawing conclusions to soon can often loose you in a maze with no obvious way out.
After a week or so analysis and conclusions as to what has happened will often give you an insight that is far more relevant and especially keeping up on some of the forums will allow other peoples findings to filter through.
I am proposing something very exciting at HP, it will rock the industry when we do it and people will either love us or hate us for it. I will hint more later in the week but this has the potential to blow the lid off the industry.
Anyways, I need to create a ton of recommendations now ready to push another site to where it should be in search.
